  • February 2017. Selected to serve on the University of Alberta's President Visiting Committee to review its Faculty of Extension.

  • December 2016. Selected to be the recipient of the 2017 TESOL Award for an Outstanding Paper on NNEST Issues. TESOL International Association.

  • December 2016. Selected as the Guest Editor for the TESL Canada Journal Special Issue: The Shifting Landscape of Professional Self-Development for ELT Professionals. 


  • July 2015. Started serving a third term on the Grants Program Committee, Council of Writing Program Administrators.

  • May 2015. Elected to the Board of Director of TESL Canada Federation and to serve as Chair of its Professional Development Committee.

  • November 2013. Since my arrival at UVic in 2006, I have run/implemented 239 EAP (English for Academic Purposes) workshop units (over 170 workshop units in the past three years).
